From September 24–26, the "SUBMARINE NETWORKS WORLD 2018” was held at the Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore. This is the 21st SNW, and it continues to be the only platform where industry leaders gather together every year to exchange knowledge, showcase the latest submarine cable projects, establish new strategic partnerships, and ultimately promote the development of the industry. More than 600 decision makers from 220 organizations participated in this high-end communication platform dedicated to the world's submarine communications industry.
The theme of this SNW is the “evolving ecosystem,” reflecting the vitality, innovations and changes that the industry has shown. Based on forward-looking plans, we hope to promote community reflection, thinking and creation to go beyond traditional boundaries. As a new member of the world's submarine cable field, Baosheng YOFC Marine Engineering Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as Baosheng YOFC) attended this SNW for the first time.
Relying on the leading position of the parent company in its own field, the JV will carry out work on the research and development, manufacturing, marketing and integration of submarine optical cables, submarine cables and their accessories. Baosheng YOFC will be developed into an internationally influential and competitive product and solutions provider to serve the innovation and development of industries such as global marine power, information communications and monitoring.
The submarine network carries more than 95% of voice and data flows in the world, and its role has evolved from supporting transatlantic telegraph transmissions in the 18th century to acting as mission-critical infrastructure that supports today's global economy. However, as the world gets closer, the need for networks featuring low delays, larger capacities and more flexibility is escalating. In order to tackle this challenge, the industry needs constant forecasting, innovation and collaboration to survive and thrive in the era of bandwidth explosion. The world is subject to a transformation towards an on-demand digital economy, and agility, security, scale and good planning will be the key features of success.
During this SNW, the “StrBandTM A110, A130 and A150” G.654.D ultra-low-loss submarine communication fibers exhibited at the exhibition stand of Baosheng YOFC can effectively improve the optical signal-to-noise ratio, increase the transmission relay distance and meet the requirements on growth and delay of the Tbps transoceanic bandwidth. 290/500kV optoelectronic composite submarine cables are suitable for high-power and long-distance AC transmission systems with power frequencies of 49–61 Hz and rated voltages of 290/500kV, and its maximum conductor cross section may reach 3,500 mm2. Baosheng YOFC brings in a complete set of imported production and testing equipment, and it has technologies with independent intellectual property rights for the design, research and development of submarine cables, ensuring the continuous production of long-length submarine cables. The product features advanced domestic and international technologies, breaking the years-long technical blockade by foreign manufacturers.
In the future, Baosheng YOFC will adhere to the business philosophy of “integrity, professionalism and accountability,” as well as the core value of “client focus,” continuously improve product quality and service, and strive to become a leading domestic and world-class solution provider for marine power systems and marine optical network systems.
